R3D (Red) files can’t find audio TC

7.12K viewsSoftware

Using Tentacle Sync Studio I added a few small (two or three seconds) Red files that have audio TC recorded on CH1 I can hear it fine and it was at -18 on the recording. I load them into your software and it cannot find any TC. I have tried many many combinations of the manual read TC and none of them work.

At this point the whole movie is on hold until I can make this work as the Resolve method, while it does find the LTC and correctly syncs the audio, it fails to export an XML that contains any reference to the audio so of the two possible workflows, neither works.

Help please.

Same problem. @ Ravian: If you’re on MacOS and using an external audio interface, TS Studio will not play mono audio files. But it will still recognize the timecode. But it will not recognize the files which were recorded with the RED. This is extremely upsetting and there should be a warning about this.

I did some tetst. I seems that Tentacle Sync Studio can’t read R3D file properly. I won’t play the video or audio in the file.
When the file is played in RED PLAYER the video and audio (with TC signal) is played.
