Canon 5D sync

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has successful experience of setting up the Canon 5D with a tentacle.

I assume the plugin power required is always on, i.e. it is not necessary to switch on?

Is it ok to leave on auto sound level, or should it be set to manual and some level for TC set?

Also, if auto mic level is set on your tentacle, does it revert to line level when used with a normal camera plugged in by BNC?

Thankyou

Thanks, Mike. I did the job yesterday, and had a chance to have a good look at the menus. It does appear that plugin power is automatically on, with no disable. I left it on auto level as it seemed to bring in the TC at around -6db, so that seemed fine, and I could see the mic channel working. I could have gone manual but I don’t think it was necessary. I will get the final word from post if it worked, but I am reasonably confident it will be. Nice to have such a small box to put on the camera – no complaints, with some positive comments on its miniature size. I also checked that the mic level which the plugin power automatically switched on did revert to line level when unplugged and indeed it does. So nice bit of programming that you don’t have to manually set the tentacle itself.
