If there is no audio jack but an HDMI or USB jack on my camera, can I still jam timecode into my DSLR?

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T5 and there’s no audio jack. Only an HDMI and USB jack. and a jack that is smaller than an 1/8 input. Is there anything I can do?

Do you know where the microphone on the camera is? Stick a small headphone on it that is connected to the tentacle…. but you have to experiment on how low the volume could be (adjusted on the tentacle output)

Hi TJ,

I am sorry but if the camera does not feature a microphone input there is no way to use Tentacle on that camera. The Rebel T5 has also no way to take timecode over the HDMI or USB jack. The smaller jack you mentioned is for external triggering the camera, but can also not be used as a timecode input.
