If there is no audio jack but an HDMI or USB jack on my camera, can I still jam timecode into my DSLR?

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T5 and there’s no audio jack. Only an HDMI and USB jack. and a jack that is smaller than an 1/8 input. Is there anything I can do?

Do you know where the microphone on the camera is? Stick a small headphone on it that is connected to the tentacle…. but you have to experiment on how low the volume could be (adjusted on the tentacle output)
